catwalks for Peco tanks in N scale from TPM
From Taylor Plastic Models comes a detailing kit designed to endow the Peco N scale 45t tank wagon with very fine etched brass catwalks and end ladders. The kit also includes a replacement filler cap in cast metal; all parts are designed to be a "like-for-like" replacement.
Removing the existing moulded catwalks and filler from the model requires careful work with a sharps knife, and judicious smoothing and finishing of the residual surface (the Mobil LP tanker - NRP-79 - is supplied ready-to-run without catwalk and ladders, allowing this procedure to be sidestepped). Installation of the fine and fragile etched brass components is inevitably fiddly but the result is a truly superdetailed N scale tanker.
In addition, there is an alternative pack representing the other most common arrangement; both types are also available in packs of five for those with large fleets.
The instructions, backed up with little diagrams, are easy to follow, and the manufacture of the parts themselves is fully up to the meticulous TPM standards of quality and accuracy.
