This unit was developed to power our range of EMU conversion kits. It uses the motor and geared bogies from the Bachmann Plus or Spectrum F-7 diesel loco. New moulded drive shafts are provided to make the conversion easy at the two set lengths (suitable for full-length Mk.1 or Mk.3 coaches), though it is possible to adapt the unit for other bogie centres. The Drive shafts are moulded in styrene and are shaped so that it is quite easy to 'splint' them using plastic strips.
